No. We never tranquilize or sedate any animal.

WHAT IS YOUR POLICY CONCERNING VACCINATIONS?

We have a responsibility to ensure the health and safety of all the animals in our care, and so we require that every guest be vaccinated against certain serious, contagious diseases. Dog guests must have current vaccinations for Rabies, DHLPP and Bordetella. We recommend updating your pets vaccines a week or two in advance of your visit to ensure maximum protection for your own pet as well as others. Please read the New Client Forms for more information.

Size, coat type, and behavior of your pet are all contributing factors. Generally, we will need your pet a minimum of two to four hours.

HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN TO PICK UP MY PET?

WHAT ARE ANAL GLANDS?

The real answer is “something you don’t want to deal with at home!” They are the scent sacs right under a dog’s tail. Some dogs empty them naturally, some do not. Your groomer can check if they need to be emptied (expressed). Please let us know if your veterinarian does this or if you do not want us to express the glands.

WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE THE GROOM WHEN IT IS FINISHED?

Please tell us. We aim to satisfy. On the occasion where a haircut is not to your satisfaction, and it is a matter of a little more trimming here or there, the groomer can do it right away. In some instances, we may ask you to come again on another day in which case we can start again. If there are two or more people responsible for the grooming result, it is important that they first agree on a style before giving the groomer instructions.

WHY DO YOU CHARGE AN ADDITIONAL FEE FOR BEHAVIORAL ISSUES OR DIFFICULT DOGS?

Only gentle grooming practices are used. This means that if a dog is being difficult or trying to bite while being groomed, that a second person is called in to talk to him and offer reassurance. If it is necessary for the extra employee to be present for the length of the groom, then there will be extra fees involved. We are always very honest with our clients regarding their dog's behavior. We have heard very sad stories about how difficult dogs are treated at some grooming shops and want to make sure that does not happen to any of our clients!

DO YOU OFFER SPECIAL CARE FOR OLDER DOGS?

In the bathing process, your dog will receive a massage to ease any pain. During the drying process we use a gentle air force dryer to not cause any damage to the more fragile dog.

The grooming process for an older dog will also take slightly longer due to extra needed rest to keep the grooming process less stressful for your older dog. Also, two groomers may need to be used to support your dog while they are being groomed. This process is done to lessen the stress and not exaggerate any health issues related to having an older dog

DO YOU HAVE PICK-UP AND DELIVERY SERVICES?

Yes! Cost is determined by approximate distance to and from our location. There is a minimum charge of $8.00 each way.
